Job Description

Overview

Manage the company’s Engineering Stores throughout the company while being responsible for the day to day activities within the assigned store. Liaise with the different sections, mainly within the Engineering, Operations, Purchasing and Accounts department in order to effectively manage the requirements of the projects and effective running of manufacturing equipment and company assets.

Key Accountabilities

Effective planning and co-ordination 

  • Ensure that the parts and consumables are sent/received in a clean and sound condition – report any abnormalities/deficiencies/damages at the right quantities and quality.
  • Issue the material on the FIFO basis.
  • Prepare and dispatch material as requested by sites and engineers.
  • Monitor the material to be transferred between sites and ensure that the proper procedures are observed.
  • Monitor all movement to and from Engineering Stores.
  • Replenish stocks from outside Warehouses of materials reaching minimum stocks

Relationship management

  • Build and maintain sound working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, with a focus on building positive partnerships
  • Create purchase requisitions related to local purchases
  • Training technicians usage of AX to issue Purchase requisitions and issuing parts
  • Handling of local suppliers invoices and updating of blanket purchase order
  • Purchasing of all purchase requisitions that are bought from local suppliers

Effective operation of the store function

  • Store goods in the appropriate designated area
  • Perform routine stock takes, highlight, report and adjust any deviances
  • Allocate daily labour resources according to work exigencies
  • Report any absenteeism to the Lead Manufacturing Engineer
  • Check, issue and forward any relevant documentation as per procedures
  • Report any faults in equipment to the proper departments
  • Operate the forklift to allow necessary movements of goods within and outside the storing areas
  • Ensure daily cleaning of the stores is carried out
  • Appropriate use and handling of cash to the required personnel in line with company requirements

Ideal Candidate Profile

Education

  • MCAST - Leadership & Management (MQF 4)
  • Ordinary Level of Education including English Language and Mathematics

Experience

  • 3 years’ experience in stores operation

Skills

  • Stock Management and control
  • Warehouse Management Systems
  • Experienced with GMP, 5S, ISO Standards, HACCP practices and HSE guidelines.
