Job Description

Overview

The position entails a rigorous quality assurance process, where the incumbent will report directly to the Head of Quality. The primary focus is to maintain the highest standards of product integrity by conducting thorough inspections and analyses at various production stages. Additionally, the role requires proactive site management, ensuring ongoing operational excellence and adherence to compliance protocols through regular site evaluations, addressing non-conformities, and maintaining systematic process.

Key Accountabilities

Production process

  • Conduct comprehensive testing of products to ensure adherence to quality standards and legal requirements, documenting all quality tests, procedures, and standards.
  • Monitor product development and manufacturing processes to detect deviations from desired quality benchmarks.
  • Propose modifications in manufacturing processes, methods, or materials to enhance product quality and increase production yield.

Raw Material and Finished Good

  • Perform thorough reviews of records and data from incoming materials and production processes to verify compliance with specifications.
  • Approve products that meet quality specifications and reject those that are defective.

Risk Evaluation

  •  Spearhead the development of material risk assessments and process improvement initiatives, aiming to elevate quality control standards for subsequent production cycles.
  • Implement and maintain regular audits to ensure compliance with food safety regulations.

People Management

  • Develop comprehensive training programs for personnel on quality procedures and food safety standards. Lead by example to instil a culture of safety and quality in all work operations.
  • Provide continuous training and updates on the latest industry standards and best practices.
  • Foster a collaborative environment where employees are encouraged to voice concerns and suggestions regarding food safety and quality.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Education

  • MQF Level 6, bachelor’s degree in food science/food technology, Engineering, or related field (Microbiology, Chemistry, Food Biotechnology).

Experience

  • Minimum of 6 years of quality assurance/quality control experience within food manufacturing operations, of which 2 + years in leadership role.
