Reporting to the Plant Manager, The Manufacturing shift Manager will be responsible for the execution of production, maintenance, and process activities during his/her shift, and the coordination with all stakeholders to achieve established manufacturing objectives in a timely and cost-effective manner. He or she acts as a guiding figure within the manufacturing plant on a 3-shift rotation pattern, by leading a team of operative and technical staff to fulfil the production requirements while providing support, driving continuous improvement, and holding individuals and teams accountable. The Manufacturing Shift Manager possesses a good understanding of the technical, production, and human aspects that compose a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Accountabilities
Execution of the shift manufacturing activities in line with the production plan and company objectives
- Accountable for the execution of the daily production plan – including all the manufacturing resources and activities pertaining to the shift in line with defined objectives, KPIs, quality, and food safety standards.
- Management and support of all productive and technical personnel to fulfil the production plan.
- Active involvement in problem solving activities
- Collect and analyse data to drive continuous improvement related to safety, efficiency, quality, waste reduction, flexibility, and speed of execution, using root causes analysis methodologies and action planning.
- Prepare, analyse, and issue periodic production and performance reports.
Quality Control and Adherence to procedures in line with Company standards
- Work within the Health & Safety Framework and the Quality Management System, including HACCP protocols and food safety requirements,
- Always ensure full observance of housekeeping, GMP, and 5S practices and shift conformance to health and safety,
- Ensures pre-production start-up activities are carried out as per procedures while addressing deviations,
- In cooperation with QC, lines are operating as per specification and production according to instructions,
- Pro-active IPC follow-up, analysis, root cause analysis, and action,
- Perform GEMBA walks, incorporate shop floor organization and plant cleanliness among plant personnel targeting 5S standards

Ideal Candidate Profile
Education
- Bachelor degree in Engineering (MQF Level 6) with 5 years experience in operations and people management within manufacturing, OR
- Advanced Technical Diploma or equivalent (MQF Level 5) with 9 years experience in operations and people management within manufacturing.
Experience
- Front line people management experience in a GMP environment within the food/pharmaceutical/chemical manufacturing sector.
- Able to work on a three-shift basis.
