Job Description

Overview

Reports to the Head of Quality. The role ensures compliant release of raw materials, packaging, and finished products in line with FCP Quality Systems. Maintains appropriate staffing and keeps the site audit ready through routine walkthroughs, non conformance investigations, and disciplined system execution. Upholds regulatory, customer, and internal standards via robust quality systems, continuous improvement, and compliance with ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, and HACCP.

Key Accountabilities

Quality Control Leadership

  • Own the end to end release of raw materials, packaging, and finished goods against FCP specifications; approve, block, and disposition lots to protect compliance.
  • Lead site quality metrics and GMP readiness; publish corrective action summaries and drive escalations to closure.
  • Establish, validate, and continually improve process control plans to ensure stable, repeatable conformance to quality requirements.
  • Direct laboratory operations and enforce GLP; manage retention/control samples and the artwork record system to maintain audit ready documentation.
  • Quality Assurance & Compliance
  • Drive zero waste/zero defect performance through structured root cause analysis, non conformance documentation, and effective CAPA and Quality by Design.
  • Guarantee compliance with EU/local regulations, GMP, company SOPs, and Health & Safety requirements across all workflows.
  • Lead material, process and site risk assessments and translate outcomes into targeted process improvement plans.
  • Own the KPI dashboard; set objectives and present performance and corrective actions to leadership.

 Stakeholder & Customer Assurance

  • Ensure adequate manning and coverage to sustain consistent, end to end quality checks across operations.

 

People Development

  • Deliver role specific training and development to maintain compliance with quality and food safety standards.
  • Champion a culture of quality by proactively identifying and closing organizational gaps.
  • Align team priorities and projects with KPIs and organizational objectives; track and report progress.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Education

  • A Master MQF 7 in Food Science/Food technology, or related field (Microbiology, Chemistry, Biochemistry). Bachelor’s degree in engineering will also be considered. 

Experience

  • 6 + year working in quality assurance or quality control roles within food manufacturing operations. 
  • Over 3 years of experience supervising and leading a team. 

Technical Skills

  • Overseeing employee performance, recruitment, and training
  • Monitoring market trends and compliance with regulations
  • Leading teams and implementing food safety programs (ISO 9001, GFSI, HACCP, GMP)
  • Improving business processes and automating operations
  • Conducting audits, maintaining sanitation, and preventing food fraud
  • Applying analytical methods (FMEA, SWOT, Ishikawa) and advanced data analysis
  • Using ERP systems, Microsoft Office, and Excel for process management
  • Performing physical, chemical, and microbiological testing
